The Health Council advises the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment to classify ethylene glycol as a substance that is presumed to be toxic to the development of the unborn child (Category 1B). There are insufficient scientific data available to warrant classification for effects on fertility, or effects on or through breastfeeding.
