The climate is changing and this is happening faster than expected. Current policies do not sufficiently protect the population against the increasing health risks of climate change. In a joint advisory report, the Health Council and the Scientific Climate Council make recommendations for reducing these risks, and for better preparation for new risks in the future. The councils recommend starting with groups that have difficulty avoiding or adapting to climate change. The Caribbean Netherlands also deserves priority because the climate-related health risks are greater here.
