Clarifying decision-making on professions and reserved procedures under the Healthcare Professions Act

The Health Council of the Netherlands has reviewed the decision-making frameworks used to regulate professions and reserved procedures under the Healthcare Professions Acts (Wet BIG). These frameworks are intended to clarify the decision-making process regarding whether and how professions and procedures should be regulated. They serve as a guide for determining the justification required from the government when making such decisions. Further specification will be necessary when applying these frameworks in practice.
