A 28-day rule for research in the Dutch Embryo Act

The Health Council of the Netherlands recommends a 28-day rule for scientific research with embryos. Under the Dutch Embryo Act spare embryos that remain after IVF treatments may be donated for this type of research. Research with human embryos until 28 days after conception can yield valuable knowledge that is currently out of reach and cannot be obtained otherwise.
