Reduce noise level of amplified music to 100 decibels

The Health Council of the Netherlands recommends that the maximum noise level of amplified music be lowered from 103 to 100 decibels (dB(A)). In the opinion of the Council this will help to reduce the risk of noise-induced hearing loss. In addition, the Council recommends that existing preventative measures, such encouraging the use of hearing protection and providing information on this issue, should be continued.
