At request of the State Secretary of Social Affairs and Employment, the Health Council has evaluated the carcinogenic properties of 1-tert-butoxypropan-2-ol, and recommends classifying the substance as suspected to be carcinogenic to man. This corresponds with category 2 of the EU classification system.
