Use of apps for public health requires careful consideration
Responsible use of apps for public health purposes requires fairly balancing the benefits against the burdens. Hereto, existing ethics and legal frameworks for public health interventions may be used. However, apps do present new challenges compared to more traditional methods typically used in public health interventions, such as contact tracing and laboratory testing. Therefore, the Health Council has specified several criteria for screening apps in an advisory report to the Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport.
