Vaccination against meningococcal disease

Vaccination against meningococcal serogroups C and W is safe and effective. The effectiveness of  vaccination against serogroup B remains unclear. This vaccination can cause high fever, especially in very young children. The Health Council recommends adding vaccination against serogroups C and W, but not against serogroup B, to the national immunisation programme.
