The presidium committee serves as a sounding board and think tank for strategic matters and general Health Council operations. It is consulted during the annual drafting of the work programme, during periodic evaluations or audits, and during the consideration of working agreements with other institutions. In addition, the presidium committee is involved in selecting a new (vice) president or in reappointing the current president (in their absence).

The presidium committee consists of the council’s chair and vice chair, the vice chairpersons of the standing committee and the chairpersons of the permanent pommittees. The managing director acts as the committee’s secretary.
