Application framework for revaccination against COVID-19

The protection provided by COVID-19 vaccinations against severe disease and death wanes over time. An additional vaccination increases protection again, but the effect is temporary. The Council does not consider it necessary in the medium term to maintain the immunity levels of the entire population by regularly offering everyone additional vaccinations. Instead, the Council recommended an approach that would allow specific target groups to receive a timely additional vaccination, if warranted by the epidemiological situation. To support decision-making in this area, the Health Council has created a framework that can be used to assess which target groups should be eligible for revaccination, and at what times.
