5G and health

5G has a larger capacity and allows a faster data rate than previous generations of mobile telecommunication. But there are also concerns in society about the possible influence of 5G on health. This was reason for the Lower House of Parliament to ask the Health Council for advice. The council cannot answer the question whether exposure to 5G frequencies indeed results in health risks. This is because it is not known at which exposure level effects may occur, and it is also unknown what the exposure to humans will be after deployment of 5G systems. The council therefore investigated whether there are indications that electromagnetic fields with the intended 5G frequencies have the potential to adversely affect health.
