Hazardous substances in a circular economy

In an ideal circular economy all materials and products are reused and production of waste is  zero. More recycling will take place in a circular economy than in the current one. Via recycling, hazardous substances may unintentionally end up in toys or food packaging for example. This can cause adverse health effects. The Health Council sees opportunities to structure the circular economy in such a way that health risks are largely prevented
