Wheat and other cereal flour dusts

Inhalation of wheat flour dust can lead to allergic complaints of the airways and eyes. Bakery workers and workers in the flour processing industry are at risk. The concentration wheat flour dust in the air at the workplace is related to the number of workers that become sensitised to the dust. The new advisory value, aimed to limit the number of people getting sensitised, is 0.2 milligram wheat flour dust per cubic meter air. This is concluded in an advisory report by the Health Council, which today is presented to the Minister of Social Affairs and Employment.
