Arsenic and inorganic arsenic compounds. Health-based calculated occupational cancer risk values

Inhalation exposure to arsenic and inorganic arsenic compounds at the workplace may cause lung cancer. A concentration of 28 μg arsenic per cubic meter of air (m3) for 40 years of occupational exposure corresponds to an excess cancer mortality of 4 per 1,000 employees. Similarly, a concentration of 0.28 μg/m3 corresponds to an excess cancer mortality of 4 per 100,000 employees. This is written in an advisory report of the Health Council, which today is presented to the Minister of Social Affairs and Employment.
